Downtown Underground's standard line-up includes vocals, keyboards, guitar, bass and drums – but for the biggest funk and soul sound possible, they can add saxophone and trumpet, for a 2-piece brass section that will draw even your most reserved guests to the dancefloor.

Downtown Underground know that your wedding day has a number of different sections to it that require different musical accompaniment and atmosphere. As a result, they offer a range of ‘extras’ that can soundtrack the various parts of your day. How to book

We’re glad you like what you’ve seen so far! Hopefully, it’s been an easy decision – and we’ve tried to make the actual booking as easy as possible too and have partnered with our agents at Function Central who will provide you with an e-contract outlining all the details for your event. Once you’ve signed the contract and paid a small deposit, your booking will be 100% confirmed!

After that, we always enjoy hearing from you about your specific requests for the day – your favourite styles of music, your special requests and anything we need to know about the timings for arriving, setting up and sound-checking to make it as stress-free for you as possible.

On the day

The band perform 2 x 1 hour sets as standard. A typical schedule for the day might be as follows:

6pm – band arrives to set up and sound-check
7pm - band finishes sound-check and puts on background music and eats dinner.
8.55pm – first dance (either the recorded version or performed live by the band)
9pm – first set
10pm – interval
10.30pm – second set
11.30pm – encores and close, or band DJ service until close
