 Introducing Downtown Underground

Downtown Underground is a 6 or 7-piece band including vocals, keyboards, guitar, bass and drums as well as saxophone and trumpet for a knock-out brass section. Based in Manchester, the group has been playing together for several years and each member is a world-class professional musician with a wealth of experience.

The band is fronted by a bona fide American soul star with 25 years experience performing around the world, including working for the legendary Philadelphia International record label. The band's guitarist is famous for producing platinum selling albums by artists including Bjork, Jamiroquai and The Stereo MC’s.

Downtown Underground's standard show is made up of two hours of live music split into two or three sets. These can contain any combination of material (listed on the music page) to suit your event. The band are also happy to take requests!

The band can also offer an acoustic soloist or duo, a jazz trio for background music and a party DJ to continue the dancing all night long.

Off-stage the band are friendly, polite and discreet. On-stage they are the funkiest soul band in Manchester, and the rave reviews they get from their clients speak for themselves!
